In addition to blow molding and injection molding, Flexcraft offers multiple services to streamline the custom production process. Our in house tooling department works in parallel with our production personnel to design and manufacture new molds and fixtures. Some of the other services we offer include printing, labeling, ultrasonic welding, heat staking, engineering, automation, and assembly to simplify your production logistics and improve delivery time.

2021

Flexcraft installs air conditioning throughout the manufacturing plant to improve employee comfort and maintain a more consistent environment for process engineering. 

2021

Flexcraft forms internal Automation group to focus on streamlining operations and improving all current processes.  In addition, this group will focus on emerging technologies and applications that will keep Flexcraft as a leading, technology driven supply partner and manufacturer, and allow the company to pass along savings to customers.

2021

Flexcraft invests in a new and technologically advanced chiller system to support a tripling in machine capacity and the subsequent cooling requirements of that growth.  This investment will improve processing controls throughout the plant and support added machine capacity over time.

2020

Flexcraft adds an additional 50,000 square feet of warehouse space to better support the growing warehousing needs of customers.

Flexcraft expands clean room environment to better support the growing demands of its medical customers.

Flexcraft launches a first of its kind EBM machine for wide-mouth, large format PET handle-ware containers.  The multi-year R&D project and investment puts Flexcraft at the cutting edge of PET technology, as well as continues the company’s commitment to investment in environmentally sustainable materials and manufacturing.

2019

Flexcraft invests an additional $3 million in state of the art extrusion blow molding (EBM) equipment, further expanding capacity and reinforcing the company’s long term growth commitment.

2019

Flexcraft completes acquisition of Blow Molded Specialties in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.  The deal adds significant experience and depth to Flexcraft’s industry-leading Blow Molding team, as well as expands Flexcraft’s blow molding and clean room molding capacity.

2018

Adapting to new technologies, Flexcraft invests in fully electric Injection Molding (IM) equipment to support the growing needs and requests of existing customers.

Flexcraft successfully upgrades quality systems certification from 9001:2008 to 9001:2015, further demonstrating our commitment to high quality, repeatable production solutions.

2017

Successful implementation of IQMS, a fully integrated ERP/MRP solution tailored for the molding industry.

2016

Flexcraft invests $2 million in state of the art extrusion blow molding (EBM) equipment allowing for the automated production of bottles and custom containers.

2015

Flexcraft completes first major investment in Injection-Stretch Blow Molding (ISBM) equipment and infrastructure for the high quality, efficient production of PET bottles.

2014

Purchased 50 Flexcraft Drive, a 210,000 sq foot manufacturing and warehousing facility.

2013

Flexcraft achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification, validating the effectiveness of our quality system.

2010

Acquired Primus Mold to provide in house blow mold manufacturing.

2005

Acquired SPC Company, a custom blow molding company along with approximately 10 extrusion blow molding machines.

2003

Acquired Roto Fiber Corporation, a manufacturer of blow molded plastic toner cartridge bags for the printing industry.

2001

As the business grew, Flexcraft needed more space and purchased a 30,000 sq ft building in Asbury Park, NJ. Russ, along with the late Wayne Powell, gut renovated the building, and at the time thought they had more space than they ever would know what to do with!

1989

Flexcraft became the first company to successfully extrusion blow mold GE Plastics’ Ultem resin.

1985

Flexcraft was the first company to successfully blow mold Halar ECTFE Fluoropolymer.

1980

The Flexcraft team successfully completed an iconic metal to plastic conversion taking an assembly of 18 different stainless steel parts and replacing it with a single blow molded polysulfone component.

1971

Founded by the late George Smith, an ex-GE Plastics engineer who had a desire to manufacture products from the resins he had spent his career developing. He and his son Russ Sr., Flexcraft’s first full time employee, purchased an extruder from Hershey and proceeded to convert the machine from a chocolate extruder to an extrusion blow molding machine. George and Russ earned their first customer to blow mold mold thick walled polycarbonate and polysulfone medical vacuum canisters. Almost 50 years later, Flexcraft still molds parts for this customer today!
