How to Source a Recyclable Bottle

It is estimated that only 14% of plastic packaging is recycled in the world. Driven by growing demands for sustainable brands with environmentally-friendly consumer packaged goods, businesses must rethink all aspects of their plastic bottle supply chain from sourcing to end-of-life. If there has ever been a time to consider how to source a recyclable bottle into your business plan, it is now.

Responsible Sourcing

In today’s market, responsible sourcing is becoming more important than ever- for the environment and for your brand. An international study by Unilever reveals that a third of consumers (33%) are now choosing to buy from brands they believe are doing social or environmental good. This statistic demonstrates how your simple choice to implement a sustainable business practice, like sourcing a recyclable bottle, can be the edge you need to become more competitive in the marketplace.

In addition to being safer for the environment and improving brand image, recycling is also better for our economy. According to the 2016 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Recycling Economic Information Report, “recycling and recycled products play an important role in our economy and have significant positive impacts on jobs, wages and tax collections.”

Bottle-to-bottle recycling is one of the most effective ways organizations can help to reduce landfill waste, decrease our carbon footprint and conserve precious natural resources.

But, as the importance on how to source a recyclable bottle becomes more apparent throughout the United States, many businesses still have questions about the process.

How to Source a Recyclable Bottle

Offering solutions to one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues, the leading innovators at Flexcraft work with entrepreneurs on financial, technical and expert resources to manufacture an eco-friendly bottle, help get those recyclable bottle solutions to store shelves, through the recovery system and back into the supply chain

Our team of expert process engineers are capable of successfully manufacturing bottles in a variety of different materials. Whether it’s using materials that are recyclable or using materials that are already recycled, we have what you need to source a recyclable bottle for your brand.

In addition, we have successfully manufactured bottles containing up to 100% PCR (post consumer regrind) and when possible -and allowed by customer specifications- we also have equipment that allows for closed loop recycling. This reprocessing of 100% of our in-process generated scrap, means that any bottles or excess materials will be ground up and turned back into a new bottle.
